How To Play:
Objective:
Connect two circles within a square using a single continuous line that adheres to specific rules, while navigating around the dots.
Materials Needed:
- A piece of paper
- A pen or pencil
Setup:
- Draw the Square: Start by drawing a large square on the paper.
- Draw the Circles: Inside the square, draw two circles of any size, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Connect the Circles: Draw a straight line connecting the centers of the two circles (this counts as a path for the rules of the game).
- Fill with Dots: Randomly fill the square with dots, leaving some white space between them. Ensure that the dots are not too close to the circles or the line connecting them.
Rules:
- Path Creation: The player must create a path from one circle to the other.
- Continuous Line: The path must be drawn as a single continuous line without lifting the pen from the paper.
- Dot Requirement: The path must have at least one dot on each side of the path. However, dots that are already enclosed by a path on both sides do not count toward this requirement.
- No Touching: The path cannot touch any other dots or lines except for the circles at the endpoints.
- Path Shape: The path can be any shape, but it must remain within the boundaries of the square, and you cannot lift your pen until you finish the path.
Gameplay:
- The player attempts to create a valid path from one circle to the other in one continuous motion.
- If the player successfully creates a path that meets all the requirements, they score a point.
- If the path touches anything besides the two circles, the path becomes invalid.
- In Hardcore Mode, the player loses the game.
- In Casual Mode, the game continues, but the invalid path does not count as a score point and is considered an obstacle that must be avoided.
Variations:
- Multiplayer: Players can take turns, and the first one to hit an obstacle loses the game it in hardcore mode or their turn if in casual. The game ending condition for casual mode is if in one round every player misses then we consider that there is no more valid path possible and the game end, and the winner is the one with the most valid paths made.
- Time Challenge: Set a timer for each attempt to increase the difficulty.
- Speed Draw: draw the paths as fast as possible
- Limited Moves: Allow only certain types of shapes for the path (e.g., only CSI lines allowed).
- More Randomness: Introduce additional challenges, such as closing your eyes when drawing the dots, or drawing with your non-dominant hand, or both.
